What species if this fish ?

I realize this is out of focus but i picked it out of a video where it was not the subject. It has a red tail tip blue body and black line but the dorsal fin make me think it is not a tetra or pencil fish.

if it was not glowing blue like that I would say a Red tail rasbora with munched fin.

Definitely a Tanichthys and your guess as to which one may well be correct. What with 6 new species described in the genus since 2022 I'm not up to speed on the defining traits of the 'new' ones.

Not unless there is a blue variety.

99% certain its a Vietnamese cardinal minnow. What eggs are they on the coconut hut ?

I personally think it's pulling blue from the LED lighting, several of my African Tetras do the same...

Not sure but if you look at the anal fin; t. flavianals has a double fin and i only see one on this fish.
