Well, basically you've lost the ammonia source, so no more nitrite was being produced. The reduced numbers are not a sign that the tank is any more suited to the bio-load. Is the 10g cycled, IE has zero ammonia and nitrite at this time? If so, I'd fishless cycle with ammonia. After the cycle, you can add all the fish you want in one go. The tank ATM isn't suited to fish  If you don't have a filter in the 10g, get the fish back in, and do daily waterchanges as required to keep ammonia and nitrie below 0.25 Don't add to the stocking untill the ammonia and nitrite are zero consistantly for a week, while there are fish in there :good:

All the best

To resize your signature go to where its stored and open the file. Look for an edit option in the drop down box and use the resize option. In the resize mode I take the 800 x 600 that it often shows and type in a new first number. If I like the new size, I save the file and from then on its smaller. If its a jpg file you can also downsize it by telling it to "save as" and choosing a lower resolution than the current one. It not only makes the size smaller but makes it look smaller on screen.

my pic is a JPG and I click save as and it does not let me pick the resolution it just tells me where to save it. what am I doing wrong?????
