What Should I Do With...

Hi guys!

Okay, so I have a 38L tank (10G I think?) just sitting around. I have no idea what to do with it really. Money is a bit low at the minute so this wouldn't be happening straight away. The ideas would need to be low budget-ish anyways so nothing super fancy.

Any ideas on what I should use it for?

Yeah, you can have mine. They're a waste of a good tank as they're that small and boring. Their boggly eyes and actions are funny for all of about a day, then it's like you're looking at an empty planted tank. Fun times..

I dont sense a sound of disappointment with those little fishys there at all

Yeah, I certainly regret buying them. Don't get me wrong, they're cute little things and I can understand the appeal of them.. as I had the same. It's just that the novelty, at least for me, wore off fast. They're too small considering the amount you should keep together and what sort of enviroment. Plenty of plants and hiding places etc to give them something to do.. yet all I have ended up with is a nice looking tank, that if you look close, you see a light brown blob which blends in moving around, or coming up to the top begging for food. Neons are fairly boring characterless fish, yet at least you can tell they're in there!

As for the OP, it really depends. Do you want to stock it, use it for breeding, quarantine, Inverts? There's a lot of options really.

What kind of things would I put in there? Like specifically? I got overrun with platy fry a while ago because I kept saving them- Bad idea. I dunno, what else could I be breeding?

I don't know what I want exactly, that's the problem, I think I would like to stock it I think though.

I was under the impression that apistos need minimum 20g to be happy, and thats minimum...

if you go for the small fish just make sure you put some filter media over the filter intake so they dont get sucked in. if you go for the newts the tank will need to be half land half water and for the dart frogs it will need mainly land but with some water but no to much because there not the best swimmers.

Ah yep. Mum's still sitting on the fence about letting me having newts, but has already said completely no to any type of frogs apart from the normal backyard ones >w>

The apisto's are very cute <3 I'd need to read up alot about them first though before.

Wouldn't the betta like terrorize the endlers? And how many endlers would be suitable if they are compatible?
