Hi all

I have one of these as my main tank

http://www.hagen.com/uk/aquatic/product.cf...=01037520030101

However I've now had this about a year and a half and I think it is probably time to replace the tubes? The tank is currently planted to a small - medium extent, with DIY CO2 and bogwood (which has reduced the growth of plans recently by colouring the water).

Any suggestions on what to buy - I tend to get very lost when talking about light temperature and the like :/

Thanks in advance.

If it were me id replace both with these - arcadia freshwater tube. Its an excellent tube for plant growth. There are others but honestly if you dont want to get into lighting to much these are among the best T8's IMHO.

A word of advice though, change the tubes around a month apart. Over time plants adapt to the lighting available and changing it completely to something different is likely to reduce growth for a few weeks and that'll only mean algae. Do them one at a time to give the plants time to adapt.

Sam
