I have a dog who is a Jack Russell with labrador and who knows what else in him.  Yesterday marked 4 years since I took him on at 5 weeks of age.  I also have a ginger cat that my dog adopted.  In 2011, an animal rescuer advertised that she was starting pet sitting so I contacted her and asked if she could look after the dog for 4 days and she said that he could go for a visit and if he got along with her pets then he could go there.  He got along fine with them, and the foster animal room door stayed shut so that was no problem.  Anyway, her 5 year old son opened the door and all the kittens started hissing and hiding, except one, this little 3.5 week old ginger kitten who walked right up to my dog to check him out.  My dog sat quietly then touched him on the back with his paw, then laid down and licked him.  That was it then.  I picked him up and was told all about it.  From then on we visited weekly, sometimes I'd visit in my lunch break from work as well and sit with the kitten until he was 8 weeks old and could come home with us.  He'll be 2 this year.  That's my little family, a 9 year old daughter, a 4 year old dog, a 1.5 year old cat, a 1 year old fighter fish, 2 guppies not sure of their age, and a little baby bristlenose catfish.

< sighs > this could take a while,
5 cats
2 dogs
1 gecko
5 frogs
18 fish
4 spiny leaf insects
1 children's stick insect
5+ Mallee darkling beetles
1 fraser's land snail
Many feeder crickets
Various bugs that have escaped and run free in my house ( I bump into/ step on them sometimes. )
Rats that live in my roof ( I feed them sometimes, it keeps them off the electrics  )

1 Dog - Chihuahua called Fred.E Bear, Fred.E for short, Fred.E is 3 end of this year.
2 Cats - mixed breed named Thomas and Hannah, Hannah is 6 end of this year and Thomas will be 15.
2 Fish - Danios, more coming soon,
1 Bird - Cockatiel, Bertina (originally it was Bertie - then we found out it was a girl) about 2 years
1 Golden Bell Frog - George, about 5 years old (?)
A heap of baby Stick Insects and Stick Insect eggs
Bunch of feeder Cockroaches
Bunch of Meal Worms
I think that's all there is but there may be more things hidden in my brothers room. :)

OMG seriously Thomas and Hannah? My daughter is Hannah and my nephew is Thomas, the only 2 children in our family haha, that's awesome.  My brother always wanted a cockatiel.

Thomas was already named when we got him from the SPCA but we named Hannah since at the SPCA she had a name in Maori which meant funeral, no idea why they picked that name for her

Cockatiel's are awesome! Bertina is the yellow/albino gene which is why we missed up when we sexed her, they're harder to sex when they're young. We had another one...Billy who would talk, he was seriously the best bird anyone could hope for, he would even call the cats at night! He passed away awhile ago which is why we got Bertina, bit of an impulse buy but we still love her

awww Fred E is a cutie.  Diego stays very trim, he is under 4 pounds.  He is raw fed and I think that is why he is so trim.  Wish someone would portion out my food LOL

No more Chi's for me, $1500 Luxating patella surgery was enough to scar me for life!!!

The photo of the 3 of them is priceless.

I have a 10-year-old mutt that my husband says looks like "honey I shrunk the golden retriever." We found her along the side of the road when she was about 4-5 months old. Her name is Maggie.

Toby is a 2-year-old Aussie shepherd. I entered him in POTM running through the snow with his tongue hanging out.

Shamar is a lilac point Siamese who's 17.

Bella and Diva are Siamese sisters who hate each other. The former owner gave them to me because she wanted to get another dog.

I also have a pair of voles in my basement that I fed all winter so they'd stay out of my kitchen.

Mice will occasionally enter, but I escort them outside whenever I can catch them.

LOL love that you feed the vols, I have mice in my garage that I can't bring myself to....get rid of.
