What Other Fish To Base Around Two Blue Rams In A 29 Gallon Tank?

Does anybody have any ideas of what other fish to get to support two blue rams in a 29 gallon aquarium? Also, does anybody have any recommendations for backgrounds/where I can get them? I'd really like the background to draw attention to the fish, and not the background.

Hi Kelp, generally you can get backgrounds from anywhere that sells tropical fish. You can get black, blue, coral and plant looks (prob more but thats all I have seen). They can be sold by the cm, ft, mt etc.

As for the rams, my ram is tank mates with a dwarf gourami - they dont fight, often I find them swimming together, some guppies and some neons. He also shares it with a cory and a bristlenose catfish.

Rams are quite peaceful, so they should be ok with all of the above type fish.

My male ram was quite nippy with my female ram and chased her around all day. I think he terrorised her to death (she is RIP). Now he just swims around and doesnt bother anyone.

They basically go well with most any community fish. Cories, otos, cardinal/neon tetras, rummy-nose tetras, gouramis, cherry barbs, hatchet fish, dwarf rainbow fish, etc. I'd look for some community fish that you really like, then reply back with which ones you'd like to get. We can tell you how many of each kind to stock with.

If you don't mind spending money on a background JUWEL do some nice internal ones.

i set up 3 breeding tanks of 3x1x1f and i got backing for them off e-bay. they do some nice ones on there and they were cheaper than the shops . i bought it on a 9 foot roll and cut them to size
