I have a Ufo 550 corner tank. Had to use my mothers phone to take pictures as my phones camera isn't working properly.. The shutter speed on her phone is stupidly long so the fish look like a blur \:

Moment in time I have:
5 Guppies
7 Neon Tetra
3 Mollies
2 Rummy nose tetra (did but 3 but one died almost instantly, My guess was it was new stock?

 )

3 Black phantom tetra
1 Angel fish
3 Gourami's
Sadly yesterday I woke up and found my Bristlenose catfish was belly up, No idea why ):

Any tips or advise would be welcome :)

Let me know of any ideas of fish that would work in my tank.. Maybe some sort "oddball?" or anything that will work for freshwater non aggressive community tank :)

Oh and also! The tank is like in the middle of the front room atm, And it doesn't have any backing on it atm as well.. Have got some just haven't got it in the picture :)

The 550 are only 100 litres right? If so that tank sounds pretty over stocked to me or at least it definitely will be when all the schools are in the right sizes.

How long as the tank been set up for?

In a 100 litre tank I think a more manageable stock would be

3 Gourami - which species is it you have? If its one of the larger ones like Golds or Pearls or one of the smaller like Dwarfs of Honeys?
5 Guppies
10 Neon Tetras or 10 Rummy Nose Tetras or 8 Black Phantoms

The Angel will outgrow the tank I think but being the triangle Im not sure - either way it is the bare minimum - how tall is the tank? Because of the Angels long fins and height you want 18 inches as a good size if not taller.

I think you need to choose one type of schooling tetra as the tank is not big enough for 3 schools.

I put Guppies in over Mollies as Mollies get quite large and really I would want a bigger tank for them.

Hoping the Gourami are one of the smaller species as its not really big enough for the larger ones... which are they?

Sorry its such a negative response :/ but hope it helps

Not to mention the Angel will more than likely (not guaranteed) but more than likely eat the Neons when it grows larger. If fed well, should pretty much triple in size in just over 6 months. Mine did, hit sexual maturity at 7 months and still growing like crazy.

Angels are EVIL!! Get it gone! Tanks overstocked for its size, try to reduce your amount of fish,
That's probably why your finding dead fish the tank is doing what nature does best (worst) and reducing the amount of water pollution.
Testing testing testing is the key to fish keeping and no keeper should be without the best set you can afford, at £33~ a decent enough kit is the api master kit.

Hope this helps, in short: reduce stocking, test water regularly and don't add more fish! :)

Yeah that's right I believe its 100L, Aw man ): That's not sounding good, When I brought the Gourami's I got them from "Maidenhead Aquatic's" in Wellingboro, I believe they are just bog standard ones as I didn't pay much for them.. Think I payed 10 or less for all 3, We are currently looking for a 6x2x2 tank but that will be home to a male motoro stingray. I doubt any of these will be able to be tank mates for a ray though ): Maybe stuck with my lot now!

So you would not advise getting anymore fish in this tank?

Urgh, I should have expected this.. I thought angel fish wasn't good in community tanks, But my LFS assured me It would be absolutely fine  Cheers for letting me know.. Il defo be monitoring the angel fish as it grows \\:

Wow a Ray is a big commitment, incredibly hard fish to care for and if I am being honest a 6x2x2 is not fully big enough for the life span of the fish. You want something more custom made at least 30 inches front to back - preferably 3 foot so something like a 6x3x2 would be much much better. If you think about the shape of the Ray they are flat foot wide disks with a tail and a two foot wide tank is not that much for them.... The third foot will make a big difference to their quality of life.

I have to admit selling that many fish to that tank does not sound like typical Maidenhead advice... it also worries me that they may be trying to make money off you with the large tank and the ray which I imagine will not be that cheap from there...

Make sure you make a post in the odd ball section - or even try and pm someone with Ray experience like Tikariman1 (the 1000g tank man in the members pic section)

Gouramis dont really come in bog standard terms they are all about as common as each other do you know which ones specifically they are?

Hey! Not true, I have a very friendly breeding pair in one of my tanks and an extremely aggressive loner in another, different personalities

Sometimes when the Angel is raised with the fish, they can be perfectly fine and not see them as food

Hey there, Yeah ive been stung by my LFS, I know that isn't a excuse but they assured me that a angel fish would be fine in my tank.. I've only lost 2 fish so far, That was 1 a rummy nose but that died literally the night I put it in so im putting that down to it being new stock.. They close on Wednesday and re-stock I went in on a Thursdays and brought them.. My "Meow" the catfish that I found belly up was a bit strange, She was our favourite fish so she got of attention.. We looked at her everyday and never noticed any change in behaviour, was eating well.. Always moving about.. Very strange, we did plan to get another but obviously with the advise we now have I wont be rushing into getting another until our fish tank is a little less busy ): Cheers for the advise!

I have been doing ALOT of research, I've heard that 6x2x2 is okay for 2 male motoro's but only males.. Males get to about 16-18 inch I believe? Im glad I did put in the research cause if I went with the advise I was given by the store I would have put it in a 4x1.5x2 tank (.: And I wont be buying from Maidenhead, Im looking on ebay for the tank, and il probably end up sourcing the motoro from Kettering Aquatics, They had some beautiful motoro's in there, Eating well and no sign's of curling etc :)

I will definitely take your advise though, I will post around on here before jumping into buying the Motoro :)

Would they be okay to live in this tank then eventually get relocated to the stingray tank?
