So as you are all aware I keep mostly azoox corals and have 2 tanks dedicated to them BUT this doesn't mean that I dislike other corals, totally the opposite in fact.

So to cut a long thread short I have a small (16ish lt) cube hanging around, I have a heat pad kind of thing ordered and I will use a small ehiem pump for water movement.
For lighting I am thinking of going down the LED route using either a TMC tile or par38 Edison screw led bulbs.

The tank will house whatever takes my fancy so long as it doesn't require daily feeds :)

Critter wise it will most likely be a fire shrimp or two (not much room = not much room to hide) or possibly a colony of sexy shrimp.
The usual mix of snails and hermits will ofc be in there.

Fish wise - I was thinking of dropping the tanks temp abit and having a katalina goby but that Isn't set in stone. Apart from that I don't think any other fish would fit it lol.

Do not expect much progress in a hurry, we are slightly skint due to impending baby (first - oh joy  ) but progress will be made in time.

You wont be able to do it mate when your baby arrives!..........You'll be too tired! lol!

Look forward to seeing the progress tho regardless.

When you lean over the tank, the bags under your eyes will be in the water! lol

Thanks so much fella! But I have a secret weapon! Sleeping pills and booze!

so today i picked up an 11w arc pod for this tank, i got a tube that is half blue and half white (which is cool)
i will get another one of these if i need to but tbh its only over a 3 gallon cube lol

when its up to temp i will lob in a bit of LR from my main tank and a frag or two, CuC will have to wait until next week.

Did some fragging today so I have a few softies in the tank now, I have no photosynthetic lps except a big torch that I would prefer to leave whole so lps frags will have to wait until I am next at the LFS.

So now I am going to ask a question on lighting as it's not my string subject, will sps be ok in a shallow tank with about 7.5wpg?? I know they prefer intense light but the tank is so shallow I think the light from my PC's should do but I want a second opinion. I ask as I would really like to have some sps somewhere :)

That is a cute little tank, fancy doing something like that myself so keeping a close eye on this :good:

Sorgan is going to be a Daddy, how lovely

Any ideas on the sps? I am afraid I know very little about them.

Hmmmm how strange, the softies are really looking pretty poor - but all the water checks out. Maybe they are sulking. Do you think it may be going from a high nutrient rank to a low nutrient one?

Well, you know how softies like their little sulks :p but it is interesting, re the nutients, I'm going to start runing my skimmer in the day, as a little experiement to see if my corals are happiest with or without

Came home to find some more melted softies! Did a water change and test and it came up with 8 ammonia! Where the he'll did that come from! Used some prime to detox it, but I just can't work out what the problem is.

After a big ( 8lt) water change the ammonia is down to 1ppm, not great but I don't want to risk another w/c till tommorow.
Where this ammonia came from I do not know.

Ouch! Was the rock from one of your other tanks or new? Wondering if there's any chance something could've slithered into a hole somewhere and died?
