I have 2 clown knifefish but 1 of them is not looking good,it keeps turning upsidedown,it swims around and around and whacks his head towards then tank
please can you tell me what is wrong with him so far he is swimming like he is going to collapse
please advice

Size of tank? Water stats? Other fish in tank? Water change regime? Tank temp?

tank temperature is 26degrees and is in with silver shark at the moment in a 50G tank

OK, Water stats please? In the event you dont have a test kit, an immediate 50% water change would be recommended, also what do you feed them on? Any other symptoms, how is the fish pooing? Does he look bloated?

i dont have any stats equipment.ill buy sum plus i feed them from flakes, daphnia, bloodworms sometimes chopped meat
an ill do a 50% water change

When can you get your test kit? I would recommend the API Master Freshwater Kit, I got mine for £22.99.

IMHO the test kit is absolutely vital when keeping fish, I always have two kits.

D.

sorry

how can you not have a test kit? so tell me if you dont have a test kit, how did you know when to add fish after the 'cycle'?

lets be realistic here, given the kids past its pretty clear he didn't fishless cycle and that his knowledge of fish keeping is 'basic' to say the least.
Also given the fact that he has already lost a shark and a plec you would think that he would have brought a test kit long before now

and his tank has gone from a 150G to a 50G (may be a typo, if so fair enough and i apologise but the fact still remains that you do not know enough about fishkeeping to even keep them alive)

yep totally agree mate. i think a few fish keeping books may be ideal xmas pressies for him tbh.

The books may be a good idea...because from the last couple of comments, he's not likely to want to stay here long enough to learn anything....

no i have him in a 50gallon tank because he is poorly.I was going to use that 50G tank for a community tank and i did recycling an i had a water kit test but its all finished now im going to buy a new one so dont always judge me

How hes looking now? Did you manage to do the water change?

yeah he's fine now thanks minixfishy
his swimming around now with the other clown knife and is actually starting to be active again
