What is this stuff?

I’ve been cycling for almost two weeks but still no ammonia yet. Used one of those bottles so am guessing it’s no good or I need to wait a bit longer.

Have noticed a white film growing on my heater and thermometer. It breaks off if I nudge it with my magnet into bits as you can see in the photos below.

Also got some other unidentified stuff on my plants as in the photos.

Is any of this a cause for concern or normal in a new tank?

I did put a tiny bit of food in the other day but decided against adding more as figured it would make more work having to clean so have ordered ammonia to add.
