What is this growth on the plants?

Weekly gravel cleaning it is then! I have 50-55 plants in the tank and they all need a very good trim so i'll be extra careful not to damage any roots.

In essence, if you're feeding correctly and you have snails and shrimp, there shouldn't be a great deal of organic waste to have to syphon up...and what waste there is should be feeding your plants.

Loads of shrimp and snails, seems to be fewer snails than a few week ago though.
