What Is Flashing?

Never heard of it before this site. What is it?

It's basically the fish scratching themselves. Obviously they can't itch with hands, so they rub on objects in the tank. The name 'flashing' comes from the fact that their bellies catch the light when they do it.

flashing can also be during breeding certain species of fish such as some chiclids flash as part of courtship and mating dance

My cichlids do it on the sand on the bottom of the tank. Nothing like a good old itch!!

Idk , but my Mum always said that ladies should never flash
