So I had problems with BGA and since I stopped using Profito it's gone completely. Heard other people have said this is a problem with profito, I was only dosing the amount stated on the bottle too. So I'm wanting to try something else, does anyone have any recommendations?

Profito is a trace mix. Seachem Flourish and Tropica TPN are other trace mixes with a good reputation.

I'm skeptical of a properly dosed fert being responsible for blue-green algae though. How's the water flow in your tank? In my experience BGA is often a sign of parts of the tank becoming stagnant.

What kind of lighting do you have, and do you add CO2 in any form? If you do, a nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fert like TPN+ might be in order.

I add EasyCarbo yes. I was adding the recommended dose of Profito weekly initially then was recommended to try it daily but adding 1/7th of the weekly amount so still giving the plants the same amount. But the only thing that got rid of the BGA was stopping using it altogether for about a week. I've not dared to try again aince it went.

Not sure about my flow, it was in a part of the tank which should have the strongest flow where I had the BGA. It's a Juwel using the internal filter.

A Juwel using the internal filter will be a very low flow unfortunately, far lower than usually recommended to avoid algae in planted tanks.

Need far more info on the tank to advise properly :).

Tank model (so we can work out exact flow and lighting), plant species and number of plants.

A picture would go a long way to help too :).

The most likely solution is going to be increasing the flow via circulation pump/extra power-head and adding more and/or different plants.
