Please let me know if i will have any problems with cross breeding ect,

Pseudotropheus lombardoi

might be a pain. Every adult male kenyi I've seen is out for blood.

Like terminator -> :cool:

i wouldnt mix tropheus ,which come from lake tanganyika, with the rest which come from lake malawi. this is for several reasons, firstly they like water more alkaline and harder, secondly they are fairly strict vegetarians so most cichlid pellets have too much protein and will cause them to get bloat and die. also they need a colony of at least 15 fish in a single species tank to get them to breed otherwise you will get too much aggression and they will kill each other. check out tropheus heads or thropheus fanatics for more info. other than that sounds ok but the pseudotropheus species may cross breed. good luck

thanks alot though i already am breeding tropheus bemba reds!

ill watch out for the pseudotropheus species!

Hrmm, If I were you I would maybe stick to a trio of blue dolphins just so you don't overcrowd. Then a few more peacocks would be nice, I like the colourful ones :D I used to have the same size tank at my old work with 3 blue dolphins, 8 assorted peacocks and various catfish, it went well.

Perhaps a Eupterus Catfish would be a nice addition?

If you want you could probably throw a common plec in there with them and not have it get too battered. Either that or a swarm of bristlenose to clean up the algae. If you want something large, throw a salmontail in there, you should be able to pick one up fairly cheaply.

Another addition, that worked well for me, is a Black Shark:

They are quite nice, can look after themselves, and generally look better than the specimens on that page in particular.

malawi and tanganyika are basically the same water parameters!

there has also been several mbuna listed in his list who will also be very strict vegetarians the same as tropheus.

MojoDex...

I'm in awe!!! Do you really have all those tanks listed in your sig? If so, that's so awesome!

yes i do but ive jiged a few around now getting them somewhere like what im happy with :good:

my number of tanks are nothing to some people on this board though

wait, what? Who said anything about Tropheus? I saw TropheOPS, which is a malawi mbuna...they're pretty mean but I didn't see anyone mention tropheus. maybe i missed something.

I wouldn't put dolphins in with meaner mbuna under most circumstances. Maybe some of the tougher ones, but dolphins are pansies

The tank is, however, a 125 so it can go either way with some things.

basically the same yes but if your wanting to get tropheus to breed i wouldnt have them in with mbunas which was my main concern. i keep my tropheus in harder more alkaline water than mbunas. thats just my opinion.

also it was tropheops not tropheus listed so i misread what sort of fish anyway, oops
