What fish do you think is underrated?

wrs.. calm down..

Overrated- Guppies/bettas and yes I have 1 guppy and a male betta, so dont hit me up on the whole "you dont know thing"

Underated- Angelfish, because I like them

dont tell me to calm down, i have the right to voice my opinion if I want to.

over-bettas, yes i've seen them in bigger tanks but they are still dull, algae eaters
under-synodontis, and cichlids, still can't be overhyped I think

Overrated-plecos for tanks with algue. All common livebearers.

I think bettas get the credit they desirve. They make a wonderful choice for people that are just diping their feet into ''water''. The people that want something more then average can get the lovely halfmoons, clowntails, double tails, and such. To me, even the ugliest betta still looks prettier then the ugliest fish in any other species. I don't know what you mean about them being boring. Some of mine are very active. The ones that aren't as active are still very nice to look at, they swim up to see me every time I come into the room, and I almost have them hand fed. I point to one of my betta's food when I put it in and he will swim to where ever I point. He knows my finger hovering over the water means food is there. He's my favorite. I have 7 of them at the moment and I'll be getting atleast 2 more soon.

Another one that getsthe credit it desirves are Midas and Red Devils. Very aggressive and lots of personality.

Underrated-Dragon or Violet gobies. Actually now that I think about it, all gobies. Four-lined pims, and convicts.

I'm just saying, it's not like they don't do anything.

Yay for dragon (violet) gobies!

(recently got some, they're marvelous)

Overrated: fancy guppies. IMHO they were once great fish, but now they have very little resemblance to anything found in nature.

Underrated: weather loaches, horse faced loaches, blind cave fish, African Dwarf frogs and African Clawed frogs. :D

Oh, I forgot to say that loaches with the exception of the clown are underrated but make wonderful fish.

Ok wrs, start your poll, we shall see. Then maybe ask in the Ohio Cichlid Association, try those numbers. Just for kicks :D

overrated: oscars, sucker fish, guppies(tards), goldfish(tards too)

underrated: bala sharks(best fish in the world), convicts, african dwarf frog(i know there not a fish) :fun:

I already did, and you posted in it, lol.

Overrated: Bettas. I have two "run of the mill" veiltail bettas myself, which are very active and healthy. Like just about any fish, give them proper conditions (Tanks bigger than a damn gallon, warm water in the upper 70's to low 80's, a varied diet, and good clean water and they will thrive.

BUT at the same time I feel the popularity of bettas can be a bit overboard sometimes, which can/has unfortunantly led to the miskeeping of bettas.

Underratted: Cherry barbs :p in my 10 gallon the two female cherry barbs I have do a better job of cleaning the gravel than the 5 ghost shrimp I had in there lol.
