I suspect the 405 will be too tall with the pipes on. Do you have a price bracket?

right went to shop messured 405 and will fit ok with the easy bend pipes.
now i need advice on 405 media.
I got the normal media with it but need advice on the change over of media from my old eheim.
i dont want to use the carbon.
i assume the media io got with it is Fluval Biomax Bio Rings? should I add them too.
The eheim has the following media:
Eheim Substrat Pro (round )
Eheim bioMech Mechanical (flat stone like)
Eheim Mech Pro Mechanical Filter Media with Spiral Shapes

what do you suggest i place in new filer and in what order.

obviously i need to keep my bacteria.

on my 405 it goes

4 sponges
3 trays of ceramic disks
1 tray of filter wool

Just put as much of the old media from your ehiem into the fluval replacing the media which corrsponds.

Filter wool

Fluval 405 foam , is that just normal foam or special as its expensive.

Could i just buy i large piece of standard foam and cut it up.

I couldn't tell you mate, foam or sponge? I have used all sorts in the past. Fluval media is expensive so get generic and save yourself a bonb!

Just remember that the finer the sponge the more restrictive it will be.
