What Ferts To Use.

No need to be sorry Jake, i'm using the product (admitadley at double the dose) and it's working for me so i can only comment on what effect it is having. The plants are growing far better in this tank than they are in another tank that is being treated with TPN+ and flourish excel.

Micko has a 100 litre tank so can afford to dose at the same rate as me and the fertiliser will still last near on a year.

Nothing more i can say. :/

You would need to buy a set of scales or measuring spoons to weigh it all out too.

TBF most people have access to a teaspoon....

It's not exactly precise though is it? I know the idea of EI isn't to have precise amounts, but you could have a very different measurement from a teaspoon.

My coffee tastes the same every time i make it, i think i can work a teaspoon quite well :D

Riiiiiiight. Steady on there plant people. You all go way over my head. The lighting is T5 HO Dual Lamp Light Fixture 2x31w tubes. Have been told its too much light but I haven't had any algae as yet and the tanks been running with these lights for about six or seven months. I don't have them on for long either, there isn't a background on the tank so it gets half direct sunlight from after 11am until dark. Have started switching the lights on now about 6:30pm until 9-9:30pm

I couldn't agree more, infact i have had better results using my own pre-made stuff then i did using TPN+ aswell... however that really isn't the point... the product you buy will be pretty much exactly the same as buying the powders and making it yourself, the only difference is the stuff you buy is already weighed and mixed?... so just adding water is all that's necessary. This is what brings the cost up.... the method i mentioned would be far cheaper and will last a much lengthier time.

If your happy with the product then great but it was just to give the OP more options at a cheaper price :good:

There is never really any harm in adding ferts, the plants will utilise what is needed and the rest will be reset once you do a water change at the end of the week.

If you feel the plants need a boost then add it, if your happy with the way the tank is running and you feel the plants arnt lacking and they are looking healthy then as the saying goes... "if it ain't broke, dont fix it".

It's hard for us to see what you see in regards to plants and if they look truley healthy, what do you think about adding ferts?

The flora tank if your planning on adding co2 will need ferts, the only problem with the supplied co2 kits is stability and length of time the canister will last... both fail miserably unfortunately.
