WHAT EVENT GOT YOU HOOKED ON FISH KEEPING ?
Can't quite remember ! Too long ago ) but think I was about 10 and asked my mom for a fish tank but wasn't content to start of with a bowl, so started with around 5 gal small tank.

WHAT FISH WAS IT?
Goldfish.

HOW LONG AGO WAS IT?
20 odd years

HAVE YOU HAD ANY LAPSES WITHOUT FISH AND HOW LONG?
Not really. Once or twice for like 6 months or max a year - when moved long distances and living in rented accommodation. But other than that, pretty much solidly.

Well as far back as I can remember, I have raised some sort of fish. My mother started letting me raise guppies in the bathroom in 1gal. jars. Aldults in one, the fry in another. Couldn't afford an a aquarium at that time, or any of the equipment. So the bathroom was the warmest rooom in the house. But that was back about 1956 or 57. First tank I aquired was an old 5gal. Metaframe tank. Chrome edgings around the tank with a slate bottom. To this day I still love those tanks. Now I have 70 some tanks going. And still loving every minute of having and raising fish. And no comments from the peanut gallery about my age. LOL.

Ok that’s embarrassing but for me it started with a mosquito larvae ! I found it in my glass whilst drinking water (from a country fountain). I was shocked to find a black insect looking like a little fry and it was alive . I put it in a wine glass , put in some bread and it was eating (or I think it was). It was keep changing shape and skin. It was my little “fish”. My father kept saying it was a mosquito(as if… it looked nothing like a mosquito). After a few weeks, I got home I looked at my little fish, but found a huge mosquito instead . So embarrassed, ) but after that I reeeeeally wanted fish. So now I've got a 5g and a 15g and I want a biiiig tank. I love my fish and especially my botia robusta

I've grown up with fish, weather it be my family's betta in our living room, or my sister's old 20 gallon that sadly broke a year after the last fish died. I had a few bettas and I think a goldfish (In a bowl... )) when i was younger. My mom, about 3 years ago, got an ADF and kept it in a bowl in our kitchen. My family is NOT the greatest fish keepers in the world, (my mom confesses to me now she used to keep guppies in a fish bowl... she'd never do it now though) and this ADF was kind of neglected. I took the responsiblity of cleaning his bowl and feeding him, etc. I got really attached to him, and so this year I decided I wanted one of my own. Well, the pet store was out of ADF's, so I was looking around and fell in love with a deep blue Betta. got him a small tank, gravel, etc. The next day I got a dwarf frog and put him in the tank. Before I could name him, I found the Betta dead. The frog was still alive, and I brought in a water sample and the fish to the LFS i got him at. Turns out the tank had something in it. So I trashed it, got new gravel, a new betta, and moved my frog to his own tank. I got Orchid, the betta I have now and he really hooked me. Now I have a crowntail betta as well, 2 ADF's, and I am still trying to fill my 10 gallon. I am getting another Betta this weekend. I'm really new to fish, (only been hooked about 2 months) but I can tell this is an addiction.
