Okay, I know this a fish forum... But some of you have got to have seen shows about horses and such. Not races.

This type of show is where the horse has to prance around, look good, act well and possible hopefully get a blue ribbon or win the award. ~My stomach is clenching at that thought~ :D

Dressage is what I am competing in. This is its meaning: The process of guiding a horse without reins through various manoevours, the rider using barely perceptible signals of leg pressure and body weight, etc.

So...

I will hopefully be showing my chestnut Arabian [Aurora, showname Arabian Northern Lights] by the spring or early summer if everything works out well.

But, I want your honest opinion. Should I dress Aurora in tradional Arabian horse tack or stay with the American style with is what everyone usually rides around in????

Hopefully, pictures of Arabian tack and actual dress that I'd be wearing.

Dress [for me]:

I'll be wearing what the actual woman is wearing on the second photo from the right.

Now for Aurora:

Saddle:

It'll be black.

Noseband:

His will be the horse on the left.

Complete sets [halter and front piece {can't remember name}]

His will be the left one only black.

What do you think?????????

Thanks

Oh and tell me if the pics don't come through.

I don't think you'll place in dressage comps tacked up like that, cause it is all about exactitude and precision. The judges can be real sticklers too. However, you and I are different breeds - I would have never willingly showed dressage unless my instructor forced me like she did. Okay, force is a strong word, but you get what I mean. So you probably know more than me. I always thought that you had to conform to the standard, but whadda I know?

However, it is a gorgeous get up.
