What Do You Think Fish Talk And Think About?

I once heard that Whales analyse complex mathematical algorithms, however we were under a chemical influence at the time.

Fish don't think, they act instinctively.
Nothing is proven about animal/fish thinking (do they act instictly, or think) so, maybe they are inteligent, maybe they aren't... :) :) :)

There is more evidence suggesting that most animals save a few do not have the capacity to think in the human sense. What they know they know through natural born insticnt or instinct that has be learned due to conditioning and trial and error. If there are any animals on this planet with the capacity to think they would most likely be the dolphin, and certain apes. Even with the experiments done on apes we cannot say for certain if they have the ability to "think". Is does appear highly unlikely that fish have the ability to do such a thing. If it makes a person feel good to believe that their pet fish think about things...well thats up to them..but all scientific evidence shows that in all liklihood not the case.

but alas the question was, what do you think fish talk and think about. My answer is that they don't talk, as they have no language, and they don't think in the human sense of the word. They swim around attempting to stay alive and find food. Do they have personalities? I'd say to a degree yes, each fish responds different to different stimuli, hence a "personality" is born. Some are inherently more aggressive than others, but to say that they think about biting you or think about chasing other fish around becuase they are bored and want to have fun, is simply transfering human characteristics on a very unhuman animal.

I think that fish can and do think, just not in the way we think... for example they would think to look for food, look to spawn, look for protection, etc. Which is all instinct, but there's got to be a thought process in there somewhere. Such as knowing where the most food is, where to go next when the food runs low, distinguishing between a predator and a fellow fish. I mean they have to have some thought during these processes. It can't all be just ingrained instinct.

I think my fish are thinking, (who is that stupid person that keeps sticking his face right up to the glass, every two minutes) or

there are probably thinking, (I wish he would stop walking past our home naked),  .

 kidding, I am kidding folks. :shifty:

i THINK that this is just supposed to be a fun topic, where we can just pretend... cant you guys have fun with it?

My Fishy Skye, bright blue female betta with black face and all, dominates my 55 gallon. She hogs allllll the plants and chases EVERYONE else away. If she sees a fish go into the plants ALL the way across the tank, she zooms over and chases them away. "MY PLANTS! MINE!"
