What Do You Recommend?..

i don't know about cichlids with bettas, both are aggressive. and cichlids may well win.

i had a betta in with corys, he hunted them and took chunks out of them, so swapped tanks with another betta who completely ignored them! it will be trial and error. and tolerance of your specific betta to having any tankmates at all.

yep since all beta's are realy smart and have there own personalitys, although there long fins make it hard for them to swim so they wouldnt be able to defend them selves if a fish fought back x_X

i really wouldn't advise having most of those fish with a betta :/ Anything that occupies the same swimming space as the betta and is brightly coloured (so neons, platy's etc) is a likely target for him, if they're too quick the betta will make himself poorly and stressed trying to catch them, if they're not too quick they're done for. :/

they're generally alright with things like cories and khuli loaches cos they stay out of each other's way.

frog's are fine as community fish in terms of temprement. Feeding is where the problems begin. Frogs are very tricky to get eating properly and in a community set up with competition for food they often starve. with your betta he's fine cos he's got no competition for any food on the ground, the betta will eat his food from the surface.

this does depend a little on your individual betta's temprement, some are more willing to accept companions than others so you should always be careful with any new introductions. but personally if your betta's happy in his little tank leave him and the frog there, then set up the new tank as a community with many more options than if you had the betta in.

i have had lots of these and i agree they are very cute! mine would swim through my fingers like a cat winding round my legs whenever i had my hand in the tank for cleaning etc lol! the ones that i have now are a bit shyer so don't do that as much but nevertheless they do add alot of character to a tank!

or you could start a breeding tank and put a nice betta with a few female betta's and have a species tank that would be realy cool :good:
