No I think you've just proved women are equally as bad as blokes for using whatever is closest

Yes i also have the towel's on the tank, then i also have on one tank one heavy wooden mug holders and a iron plate to stop the possibility of the chocolate and bycron jumping...dont like the double lifting plastic lids..

And as said used to keep food on top of tank but my reason for stopping was the new tank with all the extra cuboard space

I did once do what you did shelagh and have aload of plants ontop of the 5foot but the whole top is the lid,and removing everyday to feed or do summin annoyed me too much

there is no comparison.. believe me! i have watched my 18yo son, walk from his bed to the bathroom, splash some water on his face then shove his hands up his T-shirt ( the one he just spent the night in) and wipe his face on it on the way to the kitchen.. dirty bugga!!

All my tanks end up as dumping grounds for rubbish. There is:
Plastic plants
Birthday cards
old food tubs
Dogs food bowl
Rule
Vaseline
Plastic tub
TV remote control
2 kids cars
Towel (thats the only thing that should be there, got fed up of wet bum too lol)
I have given up moaning that my tanks are not a dumping ground for junk, it all gets tipped on the floor for waterchanges (Then I will have to put it all away)
The only tank that has no rubbish is the frontosa tank and that has a spider plant on the top

Glad you asked whats on top and not underneath, I would be hear all day lol

My tanks got nothing on top of it and my wife and kids make sure it stays that way. My wife is a stickler for putting things away, no idea why she married me to be honest as a little something left in the wrong place never hurt anybody

A fish letter rack made from driftwood, I picked up on my travels
My tank is in the hallway as you come through the front door. So the letter rack serves a purpose to slot the BILLS in for the wife to peruse at her leisure...then pass the Cotton Wool and stick copious amounts in your ears. LOL
As for my breeding tanks then tubs of Killifish Eggs and Fry are the order of the day on top of these.

my main tank lid is always up n down so nowt goes on it

The double pygmy & fry tank only has a plastic condensation tray on it although i do keep 2 yogurt tubs and a turkey baster on there,for transferring fry

I have a plant and a photo frame on top of mine but it bugs me to keep moving them off. I like the warmth on top of the tank from the lights and if I've got slightly damp, almost but not dry laundry, I make a little pile on top the fish tank to dry it off lol

Mine's an Tetra Aqua-Arc so it has a curved lid, so nothing on there. The 30l has nothing as the plastic is very thin.

My tanks are in my room, so I decide what goes on them. I would put a plant on but the only plants I have are a spider plant in a big pot and a yucca thats about 2.5ft tall They wouldn't get enough light on it anyway.

i dont really have a cupboard just a tiny one with useless in but thers a table infront of that which my test kits and various objects are on! then i ran out of room there so on top of the tank 3ft is a tupperware box, betta food [ever though theres no bettas in that tank?] 2 nets, flake food, sinking pellets a plastic plant pot, and lots of dead plants that i removed and theyve dried onto the lid.....
