What Coral - Your Recommendations.

Thanks for that info crazyfish, I had read and re read section in Borneman book and knew it needed space from other corals but did want hammer as well as my frogspawn, I wanted to check the placement beforehand. After your experience, I think I will try it.

EDIT seffie just seen post, even more reassurring

Well, the "Frogspawn coral" I get is realy a Torch (I had my doubts in the shop today, but the chap is known on a national level for his advice and I wasn't going to question) so I've done a lot more research into the genus to try and sus what I had... It would appear that Hammer and Frogspawn = OK, hammer and Torch or Frogspawn and torch isn't such a good idea... This is theoreticall knowlage, not first hand experience however...

Very interesting and has given me a better understanding of certain corals :good: I will now spend some time having a read about the corals mentioned. I like the look and sound of the Frogspawn and have an area in which it can be placed :good:

Thanks everyone

As for mixing Euphyllia, as CF says there's little method to the madness. Sometimes it works great, other times it fails miserably. One thing I would certainly avoid is mixing a hammer and a torch as this seems to be the least likely pairing. Hammer touching frog, or frog touching torch is a much more likely to succeed. Either way, you can try it, just keep an eye on them and see how they respond. If they start sticking tentacles together and/or one of the two withdraws, those are signs to separate the combatants :).

For the OP, may I suggest a Favia or Acanthastrea... And if the spot you have in mind is high-flow and hig-light, you could try an Acropora millepora, or a Pocillipora as those are very easy/forgiving SPS

Cool :good: I shall certainly take a look at those sps you mention.
