What Colours Is Everyone Into?

I'm looking at some bettas, and have NO idea what to get. On the HMPK I think I'll be going for Gold Copper, but haven't a clue on HM.. got a wide choice so let me know what everyone is looking for at the moment

I would not bother what they look like, go for personality and if you can a healthy looking fish.

Like alot of people on this board I would probably end buying one that had been 'tail nipped' in the shop.

I'm partial to Melano's, Orchids, Mustard Gases, any colour of Butterfly.. I refuse to take any to fish shops so just checking there's still demand if that makes sense?

Ahhh are you talking about breeding to sell and therefore checking peoples preferences so you know you'll be able to move the fry on?

If so I'm personally a fan of pretty much the same as you to be honest. Partly cellophane is also nice, ie a butterfly but instead of two colours, 1 colour followed by cellophane...unless that has a special name?

Oh and HM tail types are by far my fave...but hey it's all personal preference really...

Curiosity - Yep, of course the breeding isn't just all about the selling but I know how much fry I need to prepare for so knowing what I'm in for is an absolute must

Coppers are also gorgeous, and I do plan on getting a copper pair of some sort. Whether or not anyone likes them hehe.

Sorry I wasn't trying to imply you were after the money. I was just trying to work it out for myself. As in were you asking in the sense of, what colour babies are you going to be able to re-home easily etc etc.

Hehe, I wasn't implying you were saying that either It's confusing, people have preferences to colour(I know I do!) so I'm just hoping to find out in general what people would like to see. There's a lot of colours not readily available, and at the same time I'd like to help in that sense as well. Make sense now? Or still confusing?

You want to breed a few of the really popular but rarer colours. Be they rare because the parents are hard to find or other genetics often clash... If I've got that right then yes, all is now clear

when I breed I honestly try for a range of colors amoung the fry. its much harder for me to sell 50 all solid blue babies then 50 blue, green, red, mg, marble babies.

The only color I really don't care for is that green color on bettas. *shrugs* No idea why, but it's just never appealed to me.
I love the rest of the colors they come in though Black, browns, reds, whatever.
Hoping to get another betta for our 10gal in the computer room... no idea what color it'll be, so we'll see... well.. as soon as I get the filter working again... dang thing.

I really like the marbles in bettas, a mix of all colours, just like Samson in my avatar , I think a mix of colours always looks attractive in animals, my favourite colour in cats is tortoiseshell for this reason though my favourite colour is blue in general and I do like blue bettas too but they are quite common!

yeah i love marbles and i dont like reds, they never survive for me and are too common
