What Colour Should A Tiger Oscar Be

I sak because mine is not so much black around the head area as a faded grey. Is he stressed ill ect?? Everything else suggests he is fine. Water quality is good only moderate nitrate.

Tiger oscars are usually black, greeny grey and red/orange. Sounds just like he has a greeny grey head to me, but pics would help

Phew thats a relief. I think he was a lot darker and more colourful when a baby. maybe I imagined that... Thnaks for your help.

Their colors do seem to fade as they grow

The black can fade over the top of their body to greenish/grey, but the red markings often get more extensive and colourful He's a beautiful oscar!
