What Cichlid Is This

i got this cichlid the other day off my mate from his shop and he said it was a red texas BUT it looked odd so i thought o it may colour up after a ferw days in my tank but now i know for sure its not a red tex i am thinking its a trimac or something can anybody tell me what this cichlid reli is

From the Red, yellow and black markings I'd hazard a guess that its a vieja synspila,

Definitely a New World Cichlid btw

Agreed with davo, deffo a vieja if you google vieja you shall see but to what type i agree again with davo but not up to much on vieja,,,,i used to own a female vieja bifasciata, evil thing but beautiful

I googled the vieja, and it sure looks like one of those. And it is a new world fcichlid also. I hope you have luck with him.

o i kno my bad i thought i was in new world cichlids, i have cancelled out the fact that it may be a veija due to its red eyes i think it may be a trimac as its barely 2" yet but if it is a veija then i will be returning it and getting me a red texas

At first I thought it looks like a young Flowerhorn. Or some other type of mix.

i know thats what i was thinking as well but its only small its feeding well on hi-grow pellets and prima so it should grow in no time so only time will tell what it is when it gets bigger
