What Can I Do With A Eheim Powerhead?

I've got a spare Eheim powerhead which came with my Trigon 190. It's a 600 lph one and never used since I took the supplied filter out. Is it useful for anything else? The input/output don't look standard to me but is there an innovative use for it that might be beneficial to the tank or my smaller tank?

With most powerheads you can add a sponge filter kit to make it work as a filter... could be beneficial to you?

I second the idea to stick the powerhead atop a Hydrosponge - I did it with a Maxijet for a friend and it rocks his world (well, his fish's world!). Specially if you get one of the larger sponges you have a bio-beast.

Another idea is to get another power-head and stick them at opposite ends of the tank - run them on a timer for a tidal effect.

It also depends on what fish you have - some of them love the flow and others are pretty contemptuous - I've got an angel that will attack air-stones!
