I'm sorry to say, 15 gallons is not big enough for ANY cichlids.

Stick with smaller fish in that tank. Microrasboras, the celestial pearl danio, or endlers would be better options. Pygmy corydoras as well.

You should have a read through this thread. That thread is about 10 gallon tanks, but 15 gallons isn't much different. Your stocking options don't really open up much from here until you go to 30 gallons.

I have to agree with what eagle has said, for someone owning fish as a hobby 15 gals will not work for apistos in my eyes. For someone with a wealth of knowledge / a breeder for example, they may well be able to keep apistos in something that size, but they would be working on breeding them and would do daily water changes, which, nobody really wants to get into as a casual hobbyist.
