@bgarthe I love Collie’s ! My first dog was a Collie when I was a little boy back in 1961 . I had her until she met an untimely fate in 1969 . My Dad’s wife at the time decided that Lassie was old and feeble and had her executed without telling me or Dad what she was up to . I came home from school and Lassie was gone . Dad was not happy . It wasn’t much later that that marriage ended abruptly .
Lassie , yeah I named her that because every kid in my world loved that show , was very , very smart and extremely well trained . I found her and she found me and it was the biggest miracle in my life that we did . I told Dad I had a dog and told him all kinds of stories about her and what we did that day and he thought I was making it up . Finally he told me to show him the dog and I did and he recognized her as what he thought was a stray that was hanging around . Lassie patiently waited outside where we lived every night until I came out in the morning . Dad said she could come in and the classic story of a boy and his dog began . Getting kind of weepy and sentimental here remembering all this . There will never be another dog like her ever . Oh the stories I could tell about the tricks she did and the stuff her and I did . It would take all day .
