What are you doing today?

Walking here is a treat, as I slowly mutate into being a dog. Mabel, the real dog and I walk along paths on an island by the sea, connected via a causeway. It's only 2.5 km from the house.
You get a strong smell of pine resins, but also of the sea and of seaweed. The different trees all deliver their bounty, and I love just taking it in. Sometimes you're deep in the pines and spruce, then you go around a hill or a boulder and it's beach again. These aren't sunbathing beaches - although you can turn your skin blue rather than bronze if you care to.

I'm looking forward to my 7 km walk when it's snowing. You have to watch your footing with the tree roots, but it's so beautiful and silent. Eventually, the trails can become too treacherous, but that's weeks away and isn't for too long.
