Hi! I am wondering if anyone can tell me what these small white dots are all over my 5 gallon betta tank? I got some new plants a couple months ago and I’m wondering if these are snails that hitched a ride on the plants? I tried to take an up-close shot of one of them on the glass. Thanks!

If they are on the glass and hard to get off they could be fresh water limpets. I've had those in the past.

Most definitely freshwater limpets cuz I have them in my tank too
Seed shrimp don't stay stuck to the aquarium glass

Yes these in my tank definitely stick to the glass. I’m reading that they are harmless and good cleaners too, so that’s a plus! And it says Bettas can eat them!

If anyone wants to try
There isn't much to do
Get a old phone
Take it apart
Remove the camera
Remove the circuit from the lens carefully
Put the lens on the selfie camera of your phone
Put a water droplet on the lens
Put anything on the water
Shine a bright flashlight on top
That's it 🙃
Even though not enough to see microorganisms definitely can see lots of tiny things
You can see it pumping water. That's awesome, DIY !?! For real, very nice indeed
