I shall definately be keeping an eye on a new journal popping up in the future, the distant future maybe, but i'll be watching and waiting. They are some stunning cats though, only momentarily looked like an Asian Sun Catfish, i saw a spot on his side...then i realised not

no swearing please we dont want any bans now do we? room is on the short side now hence the reason for selling the other tanks to give me some room. also took 2 trips to the local tip today to free up some space.... its amazing what crap gets dumped in the garage

thanks Ian. not really 100% sure i want to keep the fish for long as they really dont float my boat at the minute. i much prefer a well planted tank with lots of colour and big groups of smaller fish. i can already picture a nice group of 15 denisonii barbs and 30 cardinal tetras with a nig group of corys on the substrate but i cant just take these fish to an lfs as non around me do brackish set ups its either freshwater or marine, they sell brackish fish at a young age but this is when they can survive without salt..... im not sure how easy these fish will be to pass on. ill look after then until i find a new home for them, i maybe even come round and keep them who knows. this is why decor is at a minimum so its easier to clean out if i get rid of them

if i went down the discus route again i would get a proven pair, not to breed just so i know they will be ok with each other. i totally agree with the cardinals i have 14 in my 4ft and they are great, ive also got 6 denisonii barbs and im lovin them at the minute so maybe 10-15 of them, 2 discus and a group of cardinals with some corys for good measure

I know what your saying about the planted tanks but there are some absolutley stunningly amazing brackish set ups with mangrove roots set up I believe there is actually a picture thread of one on here.

Just thinking out loud here but could you get any puffers in there?

the previous owners did have a large gsp, not sure what happened to it but it was big ive seen pics of it. they also had monos in it as well at 1 time. ill find the link to the tank from ages ago, hold on....
