9.30 this morning, new FX5 arrived, 10.00 new fluval roma 125/cabinet arrived.
Made the cabinet up, stuck on background, added gravel (which had been washing since 8.00am), moved eheim 2217 from rio 400 to 125, then syphoned out water for 125 from rio 400 so no change in water parameters. Caught Thorichthys Aureus breeding pair and trf to new home, took the piece of bogwood with their eggs on and put that in with them. That was them finished. Sounds easy huh, took me from 10.00 - 1.00 to do all that
Then removed the juwel internal from the rio 400, came away in about 30 seconds (what a mess it leeched out to the tank though). Stuffed all the media from it, directly into the FX5, set it all up (which is really easy btw), turned on FX5, VOILA. All fish happily swimming around and the FX5 - WOW - SILENT!!!! Love it. Peace in the lounge at long last. Finally finished all this by 3.00 just in time to pick little boy up from nursery. Also managed a quick hoovering up before I left
Only casulty may be my BN plec, who I didnt notice was on one of the pieces of bogwood (of which there is a ton) which I removed to catch the fish, only noticed when all the wood was back in the tank and there was this black wriggly thing on the carpet!!! Quickly netted and plopped him back in, havent seen him for a while hope he makes it, must have been out of the tank 30 mins plus.
I am now thoroughly knackered and aching, but Im glad its all done.
