I was happy enough when the parrots laid their first infertile (as always) batch of eggs. But (yes this is NW cichlid appropriate just bear with me lol) it seems Goldie (the gold angel) and our silver youngster have taken lessons from that (being in the same tank), and decided finally that they are indeed a pair, and have just laid a nice big batch of eggs on the filter intake pipe!

We've had angels for about 7-8 months now, and this is our first batch. Obviously we're not interested in hatching them, they'll either get left there for the other fish to nibble on or sucked up at gravel vac time.

But I'm just chuffed and wanted to share it with you guys....first the parrots, now my angels - all in one week :D

Just got to tell the other two pairs to get their arses in gear now lol. Like I said, I have no intentions of breeding angels for babies - just like to know they're happy :)

And then there were none....parrot fish very fat and happy now...lol.

Goldie's pulling this face:

Old piccie from his old tank, but you get the gist...

Congrats! You're definitely doing everything right having all these fish breed without even trying. :good:

ideal lisa,i bet your chuffed :good: hows the severums doing????hope u still got them.

Sadly no - they went on to their new home a week or two back - shame, as one was colouring up nicely and I wanted to keep him in the end, tried talking them out of taking them both without actually saying they couldn't have him lol but I was obviously too subtle.

I'm really pleased about these spawning - mainly because they're happy, but also because I can prove Kathy wrong and tell her Goldie is a boy after all LOL

ah you should have kept the sevs.ive got 3 red babies now, they look stunning.

Just seen the pics - lovely lovely lovely ;)

If I'd have known I was definitely getting my 7ft tank back then, I'd have kept mine. Gutted they've gone to be honest.

thanks lisa.remember i wanted to buy yours lol.ive been looking ever since.rotkeils are too expensive so i went to trimar today and saw these reds for £9 each so i bought 3.they will be stunners when they get bigger.you should think about some severums again now youve got a beast tank.

Decided not to get beast tank in the end. Got some probs here (not fish wise) I need to sort out, which includes bringing my bedroom back downstairs - so no room for a 7ft tank any more.

Anyhoo - they've done it again - both the parrots and angels have laid today (parrots started early yesterday morning, and still haven't stopped - there's hundreds and hundreds of eggs in their tunnel - and she's still laying!), angels are also still at it but only started about half an hour ago

Someone's slipping viagra in my water, I think...
