Not long.

Ive had to move Ernie, the GT, to *shock* the rainbow tank, for now the inhabitants are fine with him, and Im rehoming all the fish in it anyway.

The Nic has been a biatch to him since day one, but now Albert the Oscar has joined in, they've had him cowering up by the filter inlet all afternoon, taking it in turns to have a pop at him, his anal fin is torn, but nothing serious, so I took the decision to move him before they really caused damage.

Shame, I was hoping they would all get on, but it looks like its not to be, I know once larger he would withstand it, but its not a risk Im willing to take, Ive lost too many fish lately due to aggression (and accidents) that I dont want to go thru it again.

He is currently sizing up the endlers :hyper:

Oh no, what a shame. He's a lovely fish. Hope your endlers are quick!

Can you try him again when he is bigger or has he gotto stay seperate now?

Oh Ernie is staying, Im rehoming all the other fish in the 53g, I was going to sell the tank once they were gone, but not now! I may try him later on, but I doubt it would work out then, as he will be bigger and more aggressive.

It was more the Nic causing the problems and she is up for re-homing too, the O just joined in because he realised he could.

Ernie will remain a sole fish in his own tank.

This is my conclusion with cichlids, solo to a tank or a pair, no more, least not unless a big tanks involved, shame sorry "hun"
my tank now consists of just the chocolate cichlid, even now sometimes he will chase the snakeheads, nothing bad mind
