I don't know where abouts you are but there are 3 really good places I go to:
Fish inc - Sheffield
Viscum Water garden (Brodsworth) - Doncaster
Hemswell fish farm - Doncaster
Fish inc is the best to go to as they can get you almost any fish to what I know. They get all sorts of fish that you never seen and have so many different varieties of cichlids. I bought my African Congo tinanti cichlid from there.
Viscum is a good place to go but can be expensive on most fish but these also do marine which they have a nice selection and a massive marine tank with invertebrates and starfish with other free swimming fish. It is a big place with big gardening decorations outside and ponds for sale.
World of Pets - Really close by to Viscum - This is another very big fish place that specialize in other animals but mainly fish including full marine & brackish.
Hemswell fish farm specialize in tropical & marine & Brackish & cold water, they bring in different fish as well but you have to watch out for the dogs they have they get on 2 feet up to your shoulders lol. These also do other animals like chickens, rabbits, squirrel looking animals I think ferrets, spiders and even snakes & reptile looking animals the dragon looking type. The place at front doesn't look big but is way bigger than you think. They have big ponds with koi in it & other types.
Hope this helps you out & everyone else, I think Fish Inc is worth the travel but there are other big aquatic fish shops which I haven't been to yet in Sheffield, so you could take a look at them while your there.

yup, I went to visit a LFS today, didn't know about it until today, went there, and it was awful, not only was it tiny, having a very bad selection, but in that tiny shop, with about 30 tanks, I saw about 10 dead fish, a lot of un healthy ones, and didn't even see a member of staff... didn't stay long. although I could have been tempted by the great deal of one of the female guppys, basically about to drop... could of had loadsfor the price of one.

Went in Maidenhead at shirley last week and i really like it in there, me and my mate was talking to the bloke in there and apparently they have been robbed several times. Shirley aquatics is a real good shop for fish and everything you need and the people that work there know there stuff but i feel like they have no time to help you with your needs were as at the maidenhead shop the bloke in there is really helpful he tells you how it is like my mate went to buy something and asked him if it done the job it was ment to and he told him that it didnt work and suggested other things which i like because he could have played along and sold me and my mate loads and made alot of money through our naivety.
I'de say they are my two favourite shops though i could look round them for ages

I went to ripples earlier on today i found it was over priced. It is a nice shop but its really over priced
In Doncaster there is a fish shop in town where he has an underground floor where he kept around 45 tanks and around 17 coldwater and the rest tropical. He closed it down because somebody put in poison in all of his tanks. Basically that was his whole stock of fish gone, so now he is thinking of setting his tank up stairs right infront of the counter desk. He still sells other pet equipment and other pets like parrots, hamsters and couple of other mouse looking creatures.

place that got robbed they also tried to drain all the marine tanks they also robbed about 2 grands worth of led's
