Weirdest hitchhiker I've seen.

Found this the day morning after planting my Walstad tank. What could it be?
Got some nice 4k macro shots of it so you can really see the detail. It's roughly half an inch long and super skinny. It almost looks like a hornwort leaf(needle?) until you look at it closely.

Huh.... Strange. Looks like some sort of larvae or nymph, but I don't know what it could be from...

That's what I thought. Almost thought it could be a damselfly or dragon fly nymph at first but its not quite a match.

It really is. It's fascinating to see its "heart" beating inside.

Yah... Definitely strange looking .
Kinda looks like the insect version of a type of goby lol

That was my first thought too, one of the cadis fly species larvae than hasn't yet built its casing.

I guess we will see as it grows. Right now, it doesn't have that fork-like thing on the end. I didn't remove it from the tank, I hope I don't regret that decision.
