Weekly W/c With Ferts

I have started to does my own ferts. I am dosing in the morning before lights re on then turning lights on after a few hours of the ferts being distributed evenly around the tank.
I have yet to do a water change as only been dosing for a week. I was wondering if people generally do a water change then add ferts with the new water + dechlorinator, or do you add some for a few hours then remove some water. Also what kind of % change do you do.
I might be going away soon for 3 days, would the plants cope ok with no ferts. I have someone to feed the fish but don’t expect they will mess with ferts etc. If I don’t do the water change that week would the ferts be enough in there to keep them for the weekend?

wow you're dosing daily?! I can barely remember to dose weekly! I usually do my water change (which for me is 50-70% as I have soft water and usually only do it every fortnight cuz I'm crap!) then add the ferts at the same time as my dechlor when I'm refilling the tank. I dose a whole week at once because (again) I'm crap and can't remember to do it every day, or every other day, or even twice weekly!

Jst give 3 days worth of ferts at once - the plants will be fine. They aren't like animals, they wont gorge themselves if you give them too much all at once!

How much are you dosing daily?

The reason I am asking is as you know, I'm going to be making the same ferts as you!

I am dosing 25ml a day. Doing a bit of ODing haha!!! I was told 1ml per 20l daily but the person who told me said he would rather OD and does 1ml per 10l. My bottle has a dosing thing that goes to 25ml so I settles for a happy medium! I do have a 300l tank so makes it seem a lot haha

Oh, at least my ferts will last longer then!
