So I figure I should get a water test kit. I go to my lfs and i see alot of ph test and ammonia test i would have thought it would have been on kit with all of them in it.

you can buy a api master kit it should come with nitrite, ammonia, nitrate,ph,testing bottles.

You will get a much better price on line than you will in most LFS. For some reason, even with shipping costs, the same kit on E-bay can easily cost 30% less and this is not a $5 kit.

Ok I'll check onl ine but I think the shipping cost is more expensive for me.

In some places, having it shipped is the only easy way. Regardless of how you find it, the API Freshwater Master Test Kit is the kit most of us like and use, not only because its a good liquid-reagent based kit, like some of the others, but also because there's a bit of common lingo owing to the fact that so many on this forum use it, which is helpful.

About how much is it to buy from ebay not including shipping. Also can they fit in the new flat boxes?

Are the test strips not as accurate?

Most of the people here consider the test strips about useless. On places like E-Bay, the kits often go for $20 or so and are dirt cheap to ship because they don't weigh much.
