Ok, I've been flopping all over the place trying to plan the equipment for my 75g before I go buying a bunch of stuff. On some suggestions from a few people I am looking into getting a canister filter instead of the 2 bio wheel ones I had planned. They say they have 350 gph each but the filtration would be better with a canister I'm sure.

My price can only go up $50 so I am looking at a Penn-Plax Cascade 1500 which says the flow is 350 gph. I have a Hydor Koralia evolution 750 water pump on the way. Now technically that should be 1100 gph of water flow....

Realistically will this be good for a fully planted tank?? {I have convinced my other half to give in on the co2} So we will have pressurized co2 running.

In theory i would have thought that would be plenty. :) Sounds like you're having fun deciding anyway. :)

The Koralia's have a great rep!

:p Does that mean I may need more? Is it a trial and error kind of thing?

trial and error indeed i'm affraid. in theory it is more than enough. But you don't know until it is all setup and running. Trey a few different positions for the outlet and powerhead and see if it works. :good:

Appreciate the response! Trial and error sucks for uptight planning maniacs like me! :hyper: haha thanks!

I would imagine the powerhead alone would provide enough flow, so as long as the filter is big enough to cope with the tank volume and stocking you should be fine. :)
