Water Evaporation In Un-Hooded Tanks?

Ok, so my shrimp tank is un-hooded, and the water evaporates loads...!

So it makes it rather difficult not to *Top-Off* and do a proper water-change.



anyway to overcome it, without adding a lid? Probarbly not, but worth asking

get some kind of bin bag liner cut it out of the shape of the tank and stick it on. should stop the evaporation

you could get a condensation tray they dont cost to much you might be able to find one small enough

Bit of glass? Pretty cheap, just get it cut to size.

Ceiling fluorescent lighting fixture cover, made of clear plastic, cut to size. I have a few on my smaller tanks that I picked up at fish auctions. They are much lighter weight than glass when you need to move them for feeding fish. Some were even made with a small feeding hole drilled in one end so they only need to come off for tank cleaning.
