Water 'debris'?

Hi,
I added some plants to my tank the other day, since then, there seems to be lots of extremely fine debris particles floating around in my water. .
I'm planning to do a water change and a substrate vac this morning, but is there anything else worth doing?
I have purigen and carbon, that i'm not currently running in my tank... should i put them back in?

There`s no real need to have carbon in your filter unless you`re removing meds or tannins from the water, it doesn`t last for long and can contribute to bad water quality if just left in so no, don`t put the carbon back in. Standard filter sponges and bio rings (or similar) are usually enough to have in the filter.

You may find a really good gravel vac and water change will clear the water, if not you can add some cotton wool or fine pads to the filter and this will catch all the tiny particles from the water

perhaps removing the carbon and replacing it with filter floss?

Try using Interpet No.3 Filter Aid. This works by making the pores in your sponges smaller which in turn helps them catch the smaller particles.

Worked like a dream in my tank, gives you crystal clear water

who on earth told you that?
what it is, supposed, to do is. make smaller partials clump, so as to make it easier for the filter to deal with.
