Water Changes

I use a 75 gallon but  to store water.  Leaving water for 24 hours do gas off chlorine

I did it my way lol
 
what i do is remove the water say 25%
 
run hot and cold water fairly easy to judge  (as long as you have a combi boiler hot and cold are from same souce)      dont do this if you have a holding tank for hot water
also add water treatement to bucket
 
 
 
put first bucket in tank and then continue until full ,monitoring temp as I go.   (leave about 5 mins between buckets)
 
 i used to just use cold water and wait for temp adjustment but took for ever ,  new way works fine ,not had any issues.
 
so much easier.

I think that leaving the water to stand for 24 hours also allows the CO2 to gas off which can help to stabilise the water and make it less likely to cause algae or pH changes.
 
I tried doing this for a while but then I got worried that my buckets weren't made of a 'safe' kind of plastic and that leaving them to stand might leach chemicals into the water

 wasn't sure so I didn't want to take the risk.
