Water Change?

Clown Loaches will be way too big - have a look at zebra loaches or some of the other gorgeous smaller types.

A Bristlenose plec would be fine

Neons are not the hardiest tetra - have a look at some of the other types as there are loads that are both prettier (IMO) and tougher.

Ok,sounds good, its not me looking the neon, the gf seen them in fish shop one day and loves them, what about the rest like the abino shark and puffer.

shark is a no-no due to size/potential aggression, I'd also say the same for a puffer - dwarf puffer too small and potentially would attack the neons, larger puffers tend to need brackish water.

if you want something a bit odd then maybe some golden panchax - gorgeous top dwellers.

yeh they nice, what is the best temp for all these fish, ive got mine at about 26.

about temp matching... i actually tested an empty tank i had @ 80f and did a 50% change without temp matching and it dropped about 20 degrees if i remember right. maybe more. i do think i have really cold, cold water but still, that kind of shock is not good for fish. so don't tank the chance.

actually when i do water changes i just put the tube pointing at the temp gauge and adjust according to what it comes out at since taps have a tendency to change as the water flows.
Yes, I've noticed that even on a tap where the temp adjustment is separate from the on/off/force adjustment, the temp can change when the force is higher. It just seems to be a characteristic of faucets and means its better to judge temp at the force you will be using for the filling. I like to run my Python hose at a high force to quicken the refill, so I briefly use high force when adjusting the faucet temp control prior to hooking up the Python.

In contrast to all this temperature care during cycling and new startup periods though, the act of doing cold refills on mature tanks when changing only 10 or maybe 15% is repeatedly reported to be perfectly fine by many very experienced aquarists here on TFF. I believe there may still be some species that these aquarists would avoid doing this to but for the majority of common community tanks there have been a fair number of threads over the years with many reporting that small percentage cold hose fillups were indeed enjoyed by their fish.
