Hi, new to this and have a question.

Pretty much figured out the water change process but one thing puzzles me that I can't seem to find via Google....how do I ensure the new water going in is the right temp??

I have 8 danios in that were added yesterday so this will be the first time I've done it with fish in.

Thanks.

+1, testing with your hand.

What i tend to do is cup my hand under the tap for 10 seconds and feel (albeit very roughly) what temp it is at compared to my tank water. I also have 2 x digital thermometers in my large tank, so i quickly check what they are reading after each bucketful of water i add...too warm? Add more cold, etc etc..

Terry.

The water temp can be 4c cooler and in some fish will induce spawning, 5c or be and you step into the grey area upsetting your fish. If your worried a £1 thermometer from fle bay if fine for this purpose but i use my hand
