my clourine levels have increased since i did water change with my tap water i added tape safe aswell anyone got any ideas should i put some directly in to tank water

are you sure its chlorine your measuring?

just add some more tap safe to it. i dont think you can over dose it  (dont quote me on that)

iv got no idea i never measure the chlorine in my tank's :good:

becasue i dont see a need to?... unless your confusing choline with something else...
tap safe seem's to be looking after my bacteria fine not lost a fish to NO2 or NO3 spike

yeah cl is clourine right and i check it because i thought fish dont like clourine lol

iv never seen a Cl test kit but chlorine is toxic to bacteria... i dont know the in's and out of it but it might just be chlorine free radical's which harm it... (as Cl breaks down) im not sure. but if you dont see any NO2/NO3 spikes and your fish are alive i wouldn't worry to much about it

okay great news cheer man

no problem. i dont know many people who measure Cl :good:

Im really new to keeping fish and read alot about what to keep eye on in ur water... and the only thing i seen is PH,Nitrite, nitrate and amonia. I tested my tap water to check what levels were like on that to get an idea what i was adding to the tank. Ive not read anything on testing the CL levels.

I have NEVER measured the chlorine in my tanks, and I have been doing this a very long time. As long as you are using a dechlorinator, you should be ok. Maybe add alittle extra than the directions call for.
