looking for some mollies sword tails and some nice guppies to start my tanks up with if you have any in the detroit mi area let me know prices and some pic would be great

Check out the Greater Detroit Aquarium Society; http://greaterdetroitaquariumsociety.org/

thank you I will trying to get back in the hobbie for fun

I was up near Grand Rapids for a club auction a couple of weeks ago, seemed to be some livebearers, a pretty wide selection of fish for sale. Clubs include all sorts of members, from people with a single tank to full blown fishrooms with dozens of tanks.

seems like I missed all of them for the spring every one I could find was in march lookin for a mix of them to get started with also want to start to raise some angels have 24 tanks to start out with right now and only 3 have fish

Michiana Aquarium Society has their auction coming up the 17th; http://www.michianaaquariumsociety.org/html/index.php

Without looking at a map I'm guessing it's a couple of hours from Detroit. It's a good auction, you could pick up plenty of fish there.

Angels are always cheap at Chicago auctions, to the point I stopped breeding them the market is so swamped. I might get them going again just for outside auctions, practically giving them away here!

I go out to the chicago area a lot my wife is from there do you live out that way her mom and dad live out in joliet area would love to find some nice fish hard to find any anymore will check out that auction

I'm just SW of Chicago, maybe a half hour drive from Joliet. Our club is having a swap April 11th; http://www.gwasoc.org/forum/index.php?/topic/194-gwasoc-swap-greenwater-swap-april-11-2010/

I just updated the vendors list this weekend; http://www.gwasoc.org/forum/index.php?/topic/200-gwasoc-swap-vendors/

what town are you in where her mom lives is a little town called morris dont sound like you are to far from there mabe we will drive out for your clubs auction if I could find away to get them home alive long way

Morris is SW of Joliet, I'm a half mile SW of Chicago city limits, Evergreen Park. You're probably taking I80 through Indiana & Illinois to Morris, If you go north on 294 off of I80 to the 127th st east exit it's about two minutes from there. Bring a styro or cooler to keep the fish warm, they will travel many hours that way, no problem.

I've been up at 2am bagging fish, getting on the road at 4am for auctions down in St Louis, and not getting back in the door until 10pm or later with fish purchased there. We've bought fish that came up from Arkansas, and made the journey no problem. Proper bagging and fasting the fish before these events makes for a smooth transit from tank to event back to the buyer's tank.

thanks still learning will let you know if I can make it out do you have to be a member to buy fish threw your club some of the clubs you do

Nope, all our events are open to the public. Most clubs work that way, I would have to be a member of at least half a dozen with all the auctions I buy & sell at.
