Wal Mart Or K Mart

Walmart is the only one I know to sell fish I've seen +/- 10 kmarts and none of them sell fish although marginal supplies.... Walmarts are hit and miss depending on the people running them... Good luck and be sure to quarantine!

Why do you want to buy fish from walmart anyway? If i lived in america, that would be one of the places that sells fish i'd least like to visit and buy stuff or fish from.

they sell tattooed mollies now... :/ don't shop at wal-mart. you might save a dime on each fish, but you're also supporting an institute that abuses its livestock.

Wal-marts sell fish, however they are usually not in the best condition. I also reccommend quarentining any fish you buy from them.:good:

As for K-mart, they sell fish supplies and other pet supplies as far as I have seen. I have never seen K-mart sell fish.

just because they're not the most desirable doesn't mean they don't deserve a good home....

I will agree with you on that one. However be careful if you are introducing them to other fish. Try and quarentine them if you can first, if anything looks suspicious to you.

Good Luck!! :good:

Walmart is a great place to get discount items when you are on a budget like distilled water for mixing saltwater but as far as live fish go, I would pass and look for a better place to go. Maybe you can find an organization, breeder, or well known fishmart?

I go with walmart. I have bought tons of fish from walmart. I recently purchesed 2 irrendecnt sharks, 2 balas, and a oscar form walmrt. Be becareful some walmarts don't take care of their fish. By my walmart has a retired fish store owner who orders the fish. Great fish he orders like royal clown knives, and other oddballs. :good:

Yes, but, if you chose to purchase/rescue these fish, by voting with your dollar you are just telling the store that there is demand for these fish. And, hence, those fish will be replaced with more of the same. However, if those fish just sit in the tank and never get sold, the store will not replace them and won't restock them because they don't sell. It really is that simple because retail stores are driven by the bottom line.

This is the same reason, though it will break your heart, you cannot "rescue" any mistreated animal from a store. It just tells the store that that behavior is acceptable and that there is a market for those animals, so they can order another one for sale. It is far better to report the store to the appropriate authorities to put an end to the abuse rather than try to save the animal. It is a little heartbreak now for an overall better situation for the long term.
