so, I'm going to start with bicycle helmets... I truly do understand safety equipment, and risk, so if I'm impaired in some way, including age, I can see them, or if you were riding an e-bike, capable of going 30 mph or more, again I can see them... but if you are just going on a leisurely ride, your risk is not much more than just going for a walk, or maybe a jog...you don't normally witness someone jogging in a helmet...

at one time "they" were talking about trying to force seat belts on motorcycles... anyone that has ever been in a motorcycle accident, knows, you do not want to be strapped to the bike...

in my state, they just passed deer hunting with rifles ( it used to be a shotgun only area ) the reason for this, is it's not wooded here, there is nothing to stop a bullet, and too many houses, the shotgun had less range, so it wasn't dangerous for more than a mile...

seems people, with no knowledge about subjects, feel entitled to tell others what to do???

we as humans don't seem to really see when enough is enough, just because we can make a glo fish, doesn't mean we should make every fish a glo species, and force the elimination of natural species...

how far are we going to go with nonsense things??? enough is enough...

As long as there's a market for these things, it will continue...

Our country is a bicycle country. We were raised to do bicycling without any protection ever since childhood. The past few years helmets are in use. But that is less than 1% of all. We Dutch don't really have the urge to change from without a helmet to wearing a helmet when using a bicycle. But this doesn't mean that we don't understand why these helmets are on the market though.

About those glofish... In Asia they're really adoring such fish. It's a good thing that they're forbidden in the EU. But again, as long as there's a demand for such fish, the reproduction of such fish will go on.

I'm surprised they let you hunt deer with rifles, 'loosening' the restrictions. It's the opposite here, we will soon have the most restrictive gun laws in the country. 8/1 is the end of being able to buy any firearm with just the standard NICS check.
Ironic that hunting is what drew people to CO......now the place is bluer than a smurf in a blender. (Also ironic, hunting/fishing/ohv licenses pay for 100% of the trail maintenance. You know, the trails the gun hating liberals like to hike.)

On the other hand, motorcycle helmets are not mandatory. I grew up not bothering with them, but traffic is so bad these days I won't leave for even a short trip without one. At least they look cooler than those goofy bike helmets. I can't see them doing much to save your melon anyway. Anyone here ever face plant with a bicycle helmet on? How'd that work out for you?

Pretty far. Idiots are never happy until they've made ___insert whatever here___ completely ludicrous and stupid.

There's always a big perception gap between urban and country people. This isn't the place to debate them. Blue and red have no meaning in countries other than the US, and this is an international forum. On the forum, that's a reference to neon tetras.
