Volcanic Rock

still a noob so take it easy on me
anyway
off to lanzarote soon and was wondering if the volcanic rock (its everywhere!) is suitable for my aquarium?
also is there anything else that i could aquire/stumble upon out there that would look good?
only asking because everything costs a fortune here!

well, it might float, or be very sharp. apart from that, its safe.
